Description
This is a shrub that reaches heights of growth of about 10 to 20 cm. The leaves are 50 mm long, with stipules. The zygomorphic flowers are about 15 mm wide and are bright purple or white.
Distribution area
In the thermo- Mediterranean coastal region of the western Mediterranean area, mostly near the coast. Often this type can be found on coastal rocks.
Confusion
The Viola arborescens offered as ornamental plants is usually not to Viola arborescens but the High Violet (Viola elatior ).
