Violet Millicent Pinckney
Violet Millicent Pinckney ( born March 11, 1871 in Alderbury, Wiltshire, United Kingdom, † January-March 1955 in New Forest, Hampshire ) was an English tennis player.
Career
Pinckney was born in 1871 as the daughter of Major William Pinckney and his wife Frances Charlotte Everett. In 1903 she won the German Championships. 1906 and 1908, she reached the second round of the Wimbledon Championships. She participated in the Summer Olympics in 1908 in part in London, but retired there from the first game against the later gold medalist Gladys Eastlake - Smith. 1907 and 1908 she was the London Championships win.
