Criticism

In early 2007 filed a consumer protection organization Food Watch complaint against the company SNP ( one of Vion NV), GePro ( PHW Group ), the fertilizer dealer Beckmann and the veterinary offices of counties Diepholz, Emsland, Oldenburg and Vechta, as companies illegal trade in meat and bone meal (K3 would operate material) and make the aid agencies to do so. Although appropriate waste and the MBM produced from them may enter the human food chain, Food Watch found for corresponding tips. In response to these investigations revealed that the trade with the meal actually took place, but with the approval of the competent authorities and, therefore, was not a criminal offense. The permits themselves have, however, violate any applicable laws. Since aid only exists from a legal perspective, if the predicate offense is punishable, the investigation was set against both the company and against the authorities in late 2007. The approval practice of the authorities has been changed.

Two WDR reports from the January 17, 2012 and January 27, 2012 in program Current hour Vion Hilden GmbH came into the public eye. The prosecutor's office was investigating the Vion Hilden Dusseldorf GmbH and raided the plant. The Hilden work was alleged to have relabelled beef from other European countries, to sell it as a German. The investigations against all defendants, however, were set in September 2012.
