ViPS Viipuri

Viipurin Palloseura (short ViPS ) was a Finnish sports club from Viipuri. The club was founded in 1928 and broke up with the fall of the city of Viipuri to the Soviet Union as a result of the Winter War 1939/40 on.

The greatest success of the club in Bandy. 1931 and 1936 was ViPS Finnish Champion, 1934 runner-up. In ice hockey, the club reached the 1928/29 season, the final round of the Finnish championship, but failed in the semifinals with 3:4 at Helsingin Palloseura. The football department was one of the founding members of the 1930 Mestaruussarja, the highest nationally played out in the Finnish league football. After a fourth place finish in 1930 ViPS in 1931 rose from out of the league.
