Virgil Hill
Virgil Eugene Hill ( born January 18, 1964 in Clinton, Missouri ) is a retired American professional boxer.
Amateur
As an amateur he boxed still in the middleweight division, in 1983 North American champion and 1984 National Golden Gloves champion.
At the 3rd box World Cup 1983 in Rome, he successfully fought the bronze medal and qualified for participation in the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. After victories over Edward Neblett, Barbados (RSC 2 ), Brian Schumacher, UK (5-0 ), Damir Škaro, Yugoslavia (4:1), and Mohamed Zaoui, Algeria (5:0), he only lost in the final the South Koreans Shin Joon -Sup almost 2:3, winning the silver medal.
Professional career
