Virginia Bruce
Virginia Bruce, actually Helen Virginia Briggs ( born September 29, 1910 in Minneapolis, † February 24, 1982 in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles ) was an American actress and singer.
Bruce was born on 29 September 1910 as Helen Virginia Briggs in Minneapolis. She started her career with small roles in Hollywood and appearances on Broadway. In 1932 she married the actor John Gilbert, from whom she divorced in 1934. In 1937 she married the director J. Walter Ruben, with whom she had a son. Ruben fell in 1942 during World War II. In 1946, she married Ali Ipar from which she divorced in 1964.
Virginia Bruce died on February 24, 1982 in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles from the effects of cancer.
She was the first performer of the song I've Got You Under My Skin.
