Virginia Commonwealth University
The Virginia Commonwealth University ( VCU also called ) is a state university in Richmond, the capital of the U.S. state of Virginia. With 29 349 (2005) students, it is according to George Mason University, the second largest university in Virginia. Among other things, she is known for the annual VCU French Film Festival, the largest French film festival in the United States.
History
The University was in 1968 from a merger between the Richmond Professional Institute (RPI ) and the Medical College of Virginia ( MCV) out. The history of the MCV to the year 1838 and the RPI on the 1917 return.
Sports
The sports team of VCU, the Rams. The University is a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference.
