Virtual Global University

The Virtual Global University ( VGU ) is a virtual university that offers e-learning over the Internet.

The Virtual Global University was founded in 2001 by 17 Professors of Economics and Business Informatics and computer science from 14 universities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, according to German law under the name " VGU Private Virtual Global University GmbH" in Berlin.

Organization

Within the Virtual Global University, the School of Business Informatics (SBI ) is the organizational unit, which offers online courses and an online degree program.

Study

According to academic research areas of the founders of the focus of the study deals VGU in the areas of Information Technology is (IT ) and management - summarized or economic computer science or Business Informatics. Business Informatics students learn to effectively use information technology to develop economical solutions to global challenges.

All courses offered by the VGU based on the Internet and generally available information and communication technology and are fully maintained with the help of electronic media, or at least significantly supported by them.

MBI program

The VGU offers a master's degree, resulting in the conclusion of the " International Master of Business Informatics ( MBI) ". This program has been accredited by the ACQUIN. The Master's degree is from the European University Viadrina (EUV ) in Frankfurt ( Oder), presented in partnership with the VGU. While the latter provides the expert knowledge and the teaching of the program, the EUV is responsible for complying with the level of academic education standards. The MBI program is offered in English and in German language.

In addition to the master program MBI independent courses are offered on a variety of IT and management issues. The Virtual Global University is through participation certificates for these courses from.

Faculty and Management

Karl crank is head of the Virtual Global University and Dean of the School of Business Informatics. He is also Managing Director of VGU GmbH and holds the Chair for economic computer science at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt ( Oder).
