Viru Viru Internacional Airport ( IATA: VVI, ICAO code: SLVR ) is an airport located in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, the capital of the department of Santa Cruz in Bolivia. It is about 15 miles north of Santa Cruz and is the home airport of Boliviana de Aviación, the largest airline in Bolivia on the operating conditions of the AeroSur.

Viru Viru is located 371 m ( 1217 ft) above sea level and has a start and runway with a length of 3,500 m ( 11,483 ft ) and a width of 45 m ( 148 ft ).

Viru Viru was opened after five years of construction in 1984 and the old airport El Trompillo ( IATA code: SRZ) as a commercial airport largely replaced, which is approximately 3 km south of the city center and in recent decades surrounded by the growth of Santa Cruz of urban developments and can not be increased.

The name of the airport refers to the village Viru Viru, near which the airport is located.
