Viscount Davidson

Viscount Davidson, of Little Gaddesden in the County of Hertford, is a British hereditary title of nobility in the Peerage of the United Kingdom, which is run by a branch of the Davidson family.

Award

The title was created in 1937 for the Conservative politician Sir JCC Davidson. This was over 17 years Member of Parliament in the House of Commons and for several years also been Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster.

Another title

The wife of the first Viscount Frances Davidson, Viscountess Davidson, was elected as the successor to her husband in his constituency as a Member in the House of Commons, to which she belonged to October 1959. In 1964 it was as Baroness Northchurch, of Chiswick in the County of Middlesex, for Life Peeress. The couple were making it one of the very few couples who simultaneously had a seat in the House of Lords.
