Vishvakarman

Vishvakarman or Vishvakarma (Sanskrit विश्वकर्मन् Visvakarman or विश्वकर्मा Visvakarma m. " The Allschaffende " ) is in Hinduism the divine architect and also the creator of the world, which is why it can be equated with Prajapati. His person was not developed until the late Vedism and shows early traces of a allgöttlichen power. Later, he was regarded as a divine architect of the universe and forefather of all the arts.

Myth

The epic Ramayana says that the city Vishvakarman Lanka built, which was inhabited by Ravana and the Rakshas. According to the Puranas, he forged the weapons of the gods, including the discus of Vishnu, the trident of Shiva and the spear of Karttikeya, which is why he is sometimes equated with Tvashtri.
