Vision Racing

Vision Racing is a car racing team, which took in the IndyCar Series from 2005 to 2009. It belonged to the beginning of 2010 the former series owner Tony George. [A 1]

IndyCar Series commitment

The team was founded from the remnants of the closed racing team Kelley Racing in 2005. The only driver in the debut season was Ed Carpenter, stepson of Tony George. The benefits were modest and not enough rudimentary approach the team capable of winning predecessor.

In the 2006 season was Tomas Scheckter second driver and the results were significantly better. A third car with Townsend Bell for the Indy 500, however, could not qualify. In the 2007 season, the team was expanded with AJ Foyt IV on three cars for the entire season. At the Indy 500 even more was added a fourth with Davey Hamilton.

For the 2008 season, Scheckter left the team to switch to the newly founded Luczo -Dragon Racing team. The other driver, including the guest starts from Hamilton at the Indy 500, on the other hand have been preserved; Paul Tracy also played the Edmonton race for the team.

In the 2009 season, Ed Carpenter was the only consistent driver of the team. Next to him, yet Ryan Hunter -Reay came in the first six races used. Carpenter was achieved with a second place in the race at the Kentucky Speedway the best result so far of the team in this series.

Early 2010, Vision Racing withdrew as an independent team, cooperated to the end of the season but four races with Panther Racing, each Ed Carpenter was used. Since then it has no more have appeared.

Other racing series

In addition to involvement in the IndyCar Series, the 2005 team was also active in the junior series Indy Pro Series; most of the drivers used at the time appeared not back on in higher racing series. For 2009, Vision Racing returned to the now renamed " Indy Lights " series back. The only rider James Davison, finally finished in second place in the championship.

In addition, there were during the entire Team History repeatedly inserts in the Grand-Am series.
