Vita, Sicily

Vita is a municipality in the province of Trapani in Sicily region of Italy with 2115 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012).

Location and data

Vita is located 38 km south-east of Trapani at an altitude of 480 m asl. Residents living on an area of ​​8 km ². The inhabitants of Vita, the Vitesi, live mainly from agriculture.

The neighboring municipalities are Calatafimi Segesta and Salemi.

History

The community was founded in 1604. Here there is a small hamlet since the Middle Ages. The earthquake in 1968 the village was partially destroyed. It was built further down the valley again.
