Vitense

Vitense is a municipality in the district of North West in Mecklenburg -Vorpommern ( Germany ). The community is managed by the Office Rehna based in the same city. Until 11 February 1992, the municipality was Vitense Parber.

The name is derived from the Vitense Slavic vítezí for hero. In 1202, the place Uitense, 1230 Vitense, and in 1237 was named Vitenze.

Geography

The lying on the river Radegast Vitense community is about 16 kilometers from the small town Rehna 4 km from Greve and mills. The surrounding rolling countryside reached heights of about 50 m above sea level. NN.

The Radegast, the small river, the places in the municipality located at the, is a nature reserve with rare animal and plant species.

To Vitense include the districts Gletzow, New Vitense, Parber, Törber and Törberhals.

History

First mentioned in 1202 ( Mecklenburg Deed Books ), in which the cathedral chapter of Lübeck by Fürst Heinrich Borwin I of Mecklenburg half of the income of a mill at the Radegast be paid.

The village was originally a Angersdorf and probably goes back to a Slavic settlement. Of the eight former farm buildings that surrounded the village green, are still six. Five of the characteristic barns are still standing, urgently need to be refurbished to be preserved at all. Some of the families have been resident for 400 years. Since the reunification of the city is an urban sprawl by several new buildings to the street village.

The manor house at Vitense now serves as a clinic for addictions.

The community name Vitense Parber was amended on 11 February 1995 Vitense.
