Vítězslav Ďuriš

Vítězslav Ďuriš ( born January 5, 1954 in Plzeň, Czechoslovakia ) is a former Czech ice hockey player who has played in its active period from 1977 to 1991, including for the Toronto Maple Leafs in the National Hockey League.

Career

Vítězslav Ďuriš began his career as a hockey player with Baník Karviná before he was active during his military service from 1977 to 1979 at the army club Dukla Jihlava in the first league, the highest Czechoslovak league. Then the defender played for a year for its domestic rivals TJ Škoda Plzeň, before he signed a contract as a free agent with the Toronto Maple Leafs on September 25, 1980. For the Canadians, he played between 1980 and 1983 for two seasons in the National Hockey League, while in the 1981/82 season he ran aground exclusively for their farm team Cincinnati Tigers in the Central Hockey League between.

Between 1983 and 1991 stood Ďuriš in Germany in the hockey Bundesliga and second division for the ECD Iserlohn, EHC Freiburg and EV Landshut on the ice before he ended his career at the age of 37 years.

Internationally

For Czechoslovakia Ďuriš at the World Cup 1979 and the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid in part. At the World Championships 1979 he won the silver medal with his team.
