Vitorino Nemésio

Vitorino Nemésio ( born December 9, 1901 in Praia da Vitória, Terceira, Azores, † 20 February 1978 in Lisbon; actually Vitorino Nemésio Mendes Pinheiro da Silva ) was a Portuguese writer whose main focus was on the presentation heimatlicher and azoreanischer stories.

Life

Nemésio was born in 1901 in Praia da Vitoria in the Azores. From 1939 until his retirement he was a professor of Romance languages ​​in Lisbon. It occurred mainly as a poet and novelist in appearance. His work has not been translated into German. Nemésio died in 1978 in Lisbon.
