Vittorio Duse

Vittorio Duse ( born March 21, 1916 in Loreto, † 2 June 2005 in Rome ) was an Italian actor and film director.

Life

Duse attended from 1939 to 1941, the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, which he left with the spectacle 's degree and was initially engaged for minor roles until he with Luchino Visconti Ossessione achieved his breakthrough in 1943. In the following years, he starred in several major films before he established himself as a character actor in numerous films, series and television productions. Process, he also repeatedly extended breaks and starred in genre films exactly as in artistically more important works. Between 1954 un 1957 he directed three films in its screenplay, but excited no particular attention.

Towards the end of his long career he was also active in a number of international productions. For his role in Queen of Hearts he won the Jury Award of the World Film Festival.
