Vittskövle Church

The Church of Vittskövle (Swedish Vittskövle kyrka ) is a church in the Swedish municipality of Kristianstad in place Vittskövle, which is located in the province of Skåne County or the historical province Scania. The church is in the ecclesiastical organization of Sweden's Vittskövle församling ( parish Vittskövle ) and Lunds pin ( Diocese of Lund ) was assumed.

The church was built in the 12th or 13th century. In the 15th century was added a northern chapel, which was dedicated to St. Anna. The vaults have been showing in the 15th century with frescoes from the 1480s, the stories of Genesis, built. These were painted later, but restored in the 20th century.

In the sanctuary, the legend of St. Nicholas of Myra was painted on. In the chapel, there are the symbols of the Evangelists and the four sacred medieval women: the Holy Barbara, Ursula, Gertrude and Kathrin.

The tower was built in the 16th century, the baptismal font dates from the Middle Ages.
