Viva con Agua de Sankt Pauli
Viva con Agua de St. Pauli eV is an association founded in 2006 in Hamburg- St. Pauli.
Objectives and Structure
The association is committed to improving the drinking water supply and availability of sanitation in developing countries. The organization sees itself as an "open network ", which mainly lives of individual initiative, which is supported by the association.
Be carried out so far all the projects of Welthungerhilfe.
Local groups called "cells" exist in several cities in Germany and Austria. In Switzerland and in Spain there since 2009 and 2011 respectively independent associations.

Viva con Agua is supported by the FC St. Pauli and its fans: The football club is the initiative among other things with the campaign " neighborhood heroes" a platform that produces parts of Millertor stadium for the taking place since 2011 social art gallery " Millerntorplatz Gallery" disposal and allows Viva con Agua collecting pledge cups at home games. Actions
Were organized, among other festivals Water Days 2007, 2009 and 2011 and the " water! March 2008". The 1050 km long route from Hamburg to Basel was run for 39 days by several activists on foot, in order to promote the objectives of Viva con Agua at the European Football Championship 2008. The band Irie Révoltés published in 2007 a music video to promote the water daily and donated source mounts in Rwanda.
Since 2008, many supporters of the organization also hitchhike in the summer in the form of a tramp race through various cities throughout Europe to draw attention to the global shortage of drinking water.
Viva con Agua is also represented at many festivals in Germany. Are accepted by the festival visitors on site by each of 10 to 40 volunteer supporters among other beakers. 2012 were able to more than 70 festivals more than 90,000 euros will be collected in donations for the projects of the association.
Since October 2011, represented in the German-speaking DreadFactory supports the Viva con Agua projects under the name " dreadlocks connect ".
History
Together with the Welthungerhilfe cried the former FC St. Pauli players Benjamin Adrion 2005, the initiative to life after he had experienced in the winter training camp in Cuba, the problematic water supply spot. The first project of Viva con Agua therefore began in Havana, where were placed in 153 kindergartens and four sports boarding water dispenser to a supply of clean drinking water. After Cuba, the initiative in many other countries ( currently 15 project countries ), especially in East Africa committed.
2006, the registered association Viva con Agua de Sankt Pauli was founded.
October 5, 2009 Benjamin Adrion was honored for his commitment with the Federal Cross of Merit. A year later he founded the Viva con Agua Foundation, the statutory purpose as the promotion of drinking water and sanitation projects (WASH ), education and sports projects has. Founding Donors were Bela B., Mark Tavassol, Marcel Eger Eger and Renate.
At the Viva con Agua Water GmbH was founded in late 2010, the club keeps 20 percent, while 40 percent has the foundation.
