Vivario ( Corsican: Vivariu ) is a commune with 514 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the Haute- Corse on the island of Corsica. It belongs administratively to the Corte arrondissement and canton Venaco. The locals Vivariais or Vivariacci call themselves.
Geography and transport
The municipality is located in the Corsican mountains, in the catchment area of the river Vecchio. The neighboring municipalities are Venaco in the northwest and the north, Noceta in the northeast, Muracciole in the east, in the southeast Ghisoni, Bocognano in the south, southwest and Guagno Pastricciola in the west. The village is dominated by the Corsican railway, called Chemins de fer de la Corse, served. The main connections of road transport are the Route nationale 193 and the roads department D69 and D343.
To Vivario heard the hamlet Vizzavona. The highest point in the district is the Monte d' Oro at 2389 m asl
