Viviane Romance

Viviane Romance; actually Pauline Ronacher Ortmans ( born July 4, 1912 in Roubaix, Nord, † September 26, 1991 in Nice, Alpes- Maritimes) was a French actress.

Life

Viviane Romance came at the age of 13 years to Paris, where she was elected Miss Paris six years later. In 1923 she had already given her first appearance as a dancer at the legendary Moulin Rouge. She was sponsored by another newcomer, Jean Gabin, who had shown himself impressed with how they had beaten in a fight behind the scenes.

In 1929, she was the first time with a dance routine in front of the camera, but got it right in 1931 speaking roles. Viviane Romance, as they called themselves now, initially played mostly small roles. Great success came in 1936 on the side of Jean Gabin in Zünftige gang.

In 1963 she retired with silent as the night of the film business. Here she also played one last time with Jean Gabin.

Viviane Romance was married three times, including with the director Jean Josipovici.

She died on September 26, 1991 Nice to cancer.
