Vixen (telescopes)

K. K. Vixen (Japanese株式会社 ビクセン, Kabushiki - gaisha Bikusen, Eng. Vixen Co., Ltd. ) Is a Japanese manufacturer of astronomical telescopes, binoculars and accessories such as eyepieces and mounts.

History

In October 1949, Kosuke Tsuchida (土 田 耕 助) a business for optical components. 1954 saw the establishment of K. K. Kōyūsha (株式会社 光 友 社, Kabushiki - gaisha Kōyūsha, Eng. Koyusha Corporation Limited) in Shinjuku. In 1966, the company started the production of telescopes for amateur astronomy area under the name Gemini Eta (ジェミニ エータ ー). August 1970 the name was then in K. K. Vixen modified and redesigned in the following years the company structure. In September 1984, the spin-off of export department as Vixen Kōki Kōgyō KK was ( .ビクセン 光 器 工業 株式会社, Eng. Vixen Optical Devices Technology Co., Ltd. ), which, however, was reintegrated into the parent company in June 2002. In August 1985, the company moved to its current location in Tokorozawa.

In July 1971, the Atlas Kogaku K. K. was (アトラス 光学 株式会社, Eng. Atlas Optics Corporation ) founded as a spin-off of the production site in Itabashi. In 1979 the company moved to Tokorozawa and in January 1992 the name was changed in Vixen Kaihatsu KK Kōgyō (ビクセン 開発 工業 株式会社, Eng. Vixen Technology Development Corporation). In April 2006, this enterprise was also reintegrated.

Origin of the company name
