Vlachovice (Zlín District)

Vlachovice ( German Wlachowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers south-west of Valašské Klobouky and belongs to Okres Zlín.

Geography

Vlachovice located at the northern foot of the White Carpathian Mountains on the border of the nature park PLA White Carpathians. The village extends between the mouths of the Sviborka and Smolinka on both sides of the river Vlára. To the north, the Výmoly ( 480 m), Díly (500 m) and Záluží rise (432 m ) in the north- east, the Skalice (444 m), Vincúch (456 m) and Díly (417 m), to the east the Stráně (664 m), in the southeast the Brumovská ( 379 m) and Vysoká ( 642 m), south Rubanisko (501 m) and Trojková (404 m), in the southwest of the Haj (431 m ) and northwest of the Hradisko ( 474 m) and Hrbov (441 m ). Southwest of the village there is a military area.

Neighboring towns are Vysoke Pole and Vlachova Lhota in the north, Mirošov in the northeast, Krekov in the east, Hložec, Vaňatka and Brumov the southeast, Vrbětice in the south, Hluboké and Slavičín the southwest, Lipová and U Kovaříků in the west and Haluzice, U Raku, Loučka and újezd in the northwest.

History

Archaeological finds indicate a prehistoric settlement in the municipal area. A burial urn field culture was Kopec On the Ďulův found.

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1261 in the founding document of the monastery Smilheim. Vlachovice was the seat of Vladiken Vlachovský Vlachovice. After the abolition of patrimonial Vlachovice / Wlachowitz formed in 1850 a market town in the district team Uherský Brod and the jurisdiction Valašské Klobouky. 1869 a post office was established in Vlachovice. In 1887, the volunteer fire department was formed. Owner of the goods was 1856-1876 Simon Sina, then until 1894 his daughter Iphigenia Josepha. It was followed until 1921 Anton Dreher. Attractions

  • Parish Church of the Archangel Michael, built in 1540, construction has in the walls of the choir on remnants of Gothic window arches, which are dated to the period around 1240.
