Vladiča

Vladica (Hungarian Vladicsa, russinisch Владыча / Wladytscha ) is a municipality in the north-eastern Slovakia with 61 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011), which belongs to Okres Stropkov, a circle of Prešov kraj.

Geography

The municipality is located in the Low Beskid, more specifically in the part Ondavská vrchvina, near the border with Poland. By the municipality of Bach Chotčianka flows. The 27- km ² municipal area is hilly, forested and formed by the Flyschböden. The amount in the municipal area varies from 290 m nm up to 678 m N.M.; the district Vyšná vladica situated at an altitude of 336 m nm and is 16 kilometers from Stropkov and 20 kilometers from Medzilaborce.

History

Today's church was built in 1964 by the merger of places Driečna ( its part, emerged in 1960 from the villages of Mala and Velka Driečna Driečna ) Nižná vladica, Sucha and Vyšná vladica.

The present municipality was divided between the Kingdom of Hungary counties Sáros ( VeLka Driečna, Sucha and Vyšná vladica ) and Semplin ( Malá Driečna and Nižná vladica ). The places Nižná vladica and Vyšná vladica originated in the 15th century Wallachian law (first mentioned in 1430 as Waddisko ). Driečna has been established as a separate place in the later 16th century and divided in the 17th century. In 1618 he is mentioned as Dricsna. The place Sucha 1567 mentioned as Zuha writing.

In all the places were the main sources of revenue farming, grazing, forestry and weaving. During the First and Second World War there was heavy fighting in the area.

The community, as well as many other places in the area is affected by severe population decline. 1789, there were 695 inhabitants in 1828, with the exception of Malá Driečna ( no data available) 1140 inhabitants. Large waves of emigration in the late 19th and throughout the 20th century, it declined to 464 inhabitants in 1970, 147 inhabitants in 1970 to 61 inhabitants.
