Vladimir Artemov

Vladimir Nikolayevich Artyomov (Russian: Владимир Николаевич Артёмов; born December 7, 1964 in Vladimir) is a former Soviet gymnast. He won four gold medals at Olympics and six gold medals at the world championships.

Artyomov was for many years as a specialist on the parallel bars, the Twelve in battle, although could deliver world-class exercises, but was overshadowed by his teammates Yuri Korolev and Dmitry Bilosertschew, who won the world title in Twelve struggle from 1981 to 1987. At the Olympics 1988 he broke away from this role and was equipped with four gold medals, the most successful gymnasts.

Vladimir Artyomov was the successor of Nikolai Andrianov, the seven-time Olympic champion in artistic gymnastics, which also dates from the turn of Vladimir school. 2006 Vladimir Artyomov was inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame.
