Vladimir Astapovsky

Vladimir Alexandrovich Astapowski (Russian: Владимир Александрович Астаповский; * July 16, 1946 in Bryansk, † April 12, 2012 in Moscow, Russia) was a Soviet football goalkeeper.

Astapowski played in his youth at Dynamo Bryansk, the team of his hometown. After working for Neftchi Baku and in Sevastopol he came in 1969 to CSKA Moscow. In 1970, he won the Soviet championship with this team. In 1976 he was elected to the Soviet Footballer of the Year. From 1981 to 1982 he played for SKA Khabarovsk.

From 1975 to 1977 Astapowski played 11 times for the Soviet national team. At the 1976 Olympic Games he won the bronze medal with the Soviet team.

Astapowski died on 12 April 2012 at 66 years of age.
