Vladimir Jewgenjewitsch Bestschastnych (Russian: Владимир Евгеньевич Бесчастных; born April 1, 1974 in Moscow, USSR ) is a retired Russian football player. The striker 's record scorer in the Russian national team.

Club career

Vladimir Bestschastnych played among others in Germany for Werder Bremen. He moved in 1994 from Spartak Moscow to the Weser, where he was first team regular. In his last season in Bremen, he was, however, only used three times.

In 1997 Bestschastnych to Spain to Racing Santander.

Later he played at Spartak Moscow, Fenerbahce, Kuban Krasnodar, Dynamo Moscow and most recently at the FK Oryol in the second Russian league.

From December 2005 was at FK Khimki Bestschastnych, also a Russian second division, under contract.

2008 Vladimir Bestschastnych stood by the Kazakh first division side FK Astana under contract.

National team career

Bestschastnych was appointed to the Russian national team in 1992. He has scored 26 goals for Russia in 71 missions. He is top scorer of the Russian team, if you do not count the gates for the team of the USSR. ( For the USSR Oleg Blokhin has 42 goals scored ). Bestschastnych also scored in the Football World Cup 2002 a goal against Belgium. He also took part in the 1994 World Cup and the 1996 European Championships.
