Vladimir Brezhnev

Vladimir Anatoljevich Brezhnev (Russian: Владимир Анатольевич Брежнев; born March 5, 1935 in Moscow, Russian SFSR, † 1996) was a Russian ice hockey player.

Career

During his Soviet times played the defender at HK CSKA Moscow. Overall, he scored 45 goals in 350 games in the Soviet league. He was appointed to the team of the Soviet national ice hockey team early on. On November 25, 1960, he was in a game against Canada for the first time for the Sbornaja on the ice. His international career was crowned with the gold medal at the Ice Hockey World Championship in 1965. For the national team, he scored 17 goals in 57 internationals.

In 1965 he was inducted into the "Russian Hockey Hall of Fame". On December 6, 1967 he played his last international match.
