Vladimir Filatov

Vladimir Petrovich Filatov (Russian:. . Владимир Петрович Филатов; * 15 Februarjul / February 27 1875greg in Saransk, † 28 February 1956 Odessa) was a Soviet surgeon.

He was a pioneer in the cornea transplant on the eye and worked with Eduard Zirm. He discovered tissue that could revive other, already dead, tissue under certain conditions. So he could due to cataracts destroyed corneal tissue replace the cooled tissue of a corpse and so restore the eyesight.
