Vladimir Jurowski

Vladimir Mikhailovich Jurowski (Russian: Владимир Михайлович Юровский; born April 4, 1972 in Moscow ) is a Russian conductor. He is succeeding Kurt Masur principal conductor of the London Philharmonic Orchestra since 2001 music director of the Glyndebourne Opera Festival and since 2006.

Life

Jurowski was born as the son of conductor Mikhail Jurowski Vladimirovich Moscow. He studied first with his father, and later with Rolf Reuter and Sir Colin Davis. At age 23 he gave his international debut in 1995 at the Wexford Festival Opera (Ireland ) with the Mainacht by Rimsky -Korsakov. In 1996 he made ​​his debut at Covent Garden (Nabucco by Giuseppe Verdi).
