Vladimir Kovin

Vladimir Alexandrovich Kowin (Russian: Владимир Александрович Ковин; born June 20, 1954 in Gorky ) is a former Soviet ice hockey player.

Career

During his career he played for Torpedo Gorky. In all, he scored 174 goals in 536 games in the Soviet league. Early on, he was appointed to the team of the Soviet national ice hockey team. On August 18, 1976, he was in a game against Sweden for the first time for the Sbornaja on the ice. His international career was crowned with the gold medal at the 1984 Winter Olympics. For the national team, he scored 21 goals in 64 internationals. On 1 May 1985 he played his last international match. In 1984, he was inducted into the "Russian Hockey Hall of Fame".
