Vladimir Petrov (ice hockey)

Vladimir Vladimirovich Petrov (Russian: Владимир Владимирович Петров; * June 30, 1947 in Krasnogorsk, Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian ice hockey player.

The Soviet national ice hockey team, he won in 1972 and 1976 Olympic gold medals and a silver medal in 1980.

In the Soviet league he played from 1965 to 1967 Krylia Sovetov Moscow for; 1967-1981 for the HK CSKA Moscow and from 1981 to 1983 for SKA Leningrad. With CSKA Moscow and in the national team he formed with Boris Mikhailov, Valeri Kharlamov and one of the best storm series that predates the famous KLM series ahead.

Mid-1990s was Petrov President of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation. In 2006 he was honored with induction into the IIHF Hall of Fame.
