Vladimir Voltchkov

Uladzimir Waltschkou (White Russian Уладзімір Валчкоў, often written as Vladimir Voltchkov; born April 7, 1978 in Minsk ) is a retired Belarusian tennis player.

Career

Waltschkou began at the age of seven years with the tennis games. As a junior in 1996, he won the tournament of Wimbledon against Ivan Ljubičić and finished the year ranked seventh Junior World Ranking from. During his professional career he often played on the Challenger and Futures tournaments. Between 1998 and 2007 he won 13 titles in this kind of tournaments. His only finals on the ATP Tour, he played in 2002 at the Tournament of Tashkent. In the final he defeated Yevgeny Kafelnikov with 6:7 and 5:7. In early 2003, he joined with Lee Hyung- taik in the tournament in San Jose. Both reached the final and sat down against the U.S. duo Paul Goldstein and Robert Kendrick in three sets 7:5, 4:6 and 6:3. His major successes include reaching the semifinals at Wimbledon in 2000 in singles and doubles in 2001.

In the Belarusian Davis Cup team Waltschkou was used a total of 1994-2008 in 72 matches, of which he won 43.
