Vlkanová
Vlkanová ( until 1927 slovak " Vlkanová Peťová "; Hungarian Farkaspetőfalva - to 1895 Farkasfalva ) is a town in central Slovakia, with 1247 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011) and belongs to Okres Banská Bystrica, kraj a circle of Banskobystrický.
Geography
The municipality is situated on the left bank of the river Hron in the basin Zvolenska kotlina. The center is located at an altitude of 320 m nm and is located nine kilometers south of Banska Bystrica.
History
The town was first mentioned in 1293 as Welchena writing.
1895 previously independent place Peťová was incorporated ( hungarian Petőfalva ).
1979-1990 Vlkanová was part of the town of Banská Bystrica.
