Vogalonga

The vogalonga (Italian voga = rowing lunga = long) is a rowing competition, which takes place every year usually on Pentecost Sunday in Venice. It can take all boat classes that are moved by human power, so for example rowing boats, canoes and gondolas.

The distance is 30 km and begins and ends at St. Mark's Square. Takes you past the islands Vignole and Erasmo to addition to Burano, Murano and then back through the Grand Canal.

The event is a peaceful colorful manifestation of the non-motorized traffic and the pollution of the lagoon and has been held since 1974.
