The Vogler is one to 460.4 m above sea level. NN high Mittelgebirgszug the Weser Uplands in the district Holzminden, Lower Saxony ( Germany ).

The Vogler, together with the about 20 km to the south Solling the Solling -Vogler.

Geographical location

The Vogler is located between the highland and mountain ranges in the north Ith, Hils in the northeast, Homburg forest in the East, Office mountains in the southeast, Solling in the south and Castle Hill in the south-southwest. It lies within the triangle formed Bevern floor Werder Eschershausen. West past the Vogler flows in a south-north direction, the current flowing to the North Sea Weser, north of the mountains is happening in southeast-northwest direction from the western Weser inflow Lenne.

The Vogler occurs zoom in sudden drop of 220 m height at the Weser. In the northern foothills is Heinrichshagen where Henry I ( Henry the Fowler ) kept his bird flock.

Geology

The Vogler the formative rock comes from the geological time of the Buntsandstein. Geologists believe the Vogler along with the Homburg Forest and the Elfas to Elfas - axis, because they lie along a line.

Attractions

On the Ebersnacken ( 460.4 m) is the Ebersnackenturm, a lookout tower from which can be enjoyed among other things, the Vogler the panoramic view. More Towers are the Bodoturm on the Zimmertalskopf (412 m) and the occasion of the 50th anniversary celebration built in 1863 after the Battle of Leipzig tower on the Königszinne (255 m).

Furthermore, worth seeing is the monastery Amelungsborn, which is southeast of the fowlers on the southwestern edge of the Odfelds.
