Vogogna

Vogogna is a municipality with 1742 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the Italian province of Verbano -Cusio -Ossola (VB ), Region Piedmont, on the Simplon railway Domodossola- Milano.

The neighboring municipalities are Beura - Cardezza, Pallanzeno, Piedimulera, Pieve Vergonte and Premosello - Chiovenda.

Geography

The municipality covers an area of ​​15 km ².

Traffic

The train station of Vogogna has a regional importance ( as that of Premosello - Chiovenda ) as the transfer point from routes Domodossola - Milano and Domodossola - Novara - Omegna.

Attractions

  • Visconti Castle, mid-14th century. The castle was renovated in 1990-1998.
  • Memorial monument to the Peruvian Jorge Chavez, who was the first with his Bleriot aircraft crossed the Alps in 1910 and crashed in the plane of Domodossola at the end of its flight.
