Vogt-Russell-Theorem

The Vogt- Russell theorem (or Russell -Vogt theorem) is a named after Heinrich Vogt and Henry Norris Russell context in astronomy. It is also known as Vogt shear uniqueness theorem.

It states that mass and (chemical ) composition of a star uniquely determine its radius, its luminosity, its internal structure and its evolution over time. However, this theorem represents only a rough approximation to the actual conditions in a star and is now used rather than a rule of thumb.
