Voice of Peace

Voice of Peace is the name of a pirate radio station, which has been used for many years for the reconciliation of Arabs and Israelis. Voice of Peace was founded in 1973 by Abie Nathan, who for almost 20 years sending operate the radio station from the Mediterranean.

On October 1, 1993 Voice of Peace radiated from his last mission. This was due to one of the bad state of the transmitting ship, to the mutual recognition of Israel and the PLO, which led to a ( temporary) end point of the concern of the sender as well as the absence of many advertising revenue. Since there were no sponsors or prospects for the ship, it was sunk off the Israeli coast at Ashdod.
