Voice of Vietnam

Voice of Vietnam ( Vietnamese Việt Nam Dai Tiếng Nói, English The Voice of Vietnam, official abbreviation VOV ) is the external public radio station of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The program is called within Vietnam as VOV6, to distinguish them from the other channels of the state broadcaster, which as a whole bears the name of Voice of Vietnam since 1945. Voice of Vietnam is sending today in 11 languages, English, Khmer, Vietnamese, Chinese, German, Spanish, French, Indonesian, Japanese, Laotian, Russian and Thai. The German service was launched on 1 March 2006.

The daily half-hour program in German language since November 2006 transmitted via satellite to the relay station Skelton in England and broadcast from there on short wave in the direction of Germany. Parallel to the terrestrial broadcasting of the programs can also be heard via the Internet and one of the Hot Bird satellites. A live stream broadcast in English is offered by VOV5.
