Geography

The Stendal district on the upper lamp is between Gardelegen and the county town of Stendal in the southern Altmark. West of Volgfelde extend the foothills of the Colbitz - Letzlinger Heide, the largest continuous heathland area in central Europe.

Geology

History

1191, the village was first mentioned as Folckfelde in an old font. The Volgfelder stone church probably dates from this period. It was renovated in the early 1990s.

Directly to Volgfelde passes the ICE train Hannover - Berlin. The next regional rail stop is the almost impassable access road to reach the railway station in the neighboring Vinzelberg Käthen.
