Volker Roth

Volker Roth ( born February 1, 1942 in Chemnitz ) is a former German football referee. From 1995 to 21 May 2010, he was chairman of the DFB referee committee. In addition, Roth is a member of the UEFA Referees Committee.

Life

Volker Roth launched his first Bundesliga game on May 6, 1972 in Stuttgart VfB Stuttgart during the game against 1 FC Cologne. From the season 1974/75 he was employed until 1986 regularly in the West German football House of Lords. International were his highlights the European Football Championship 1984 in France and the football World Cup in Mexico in 1986, which meant the end of his active career referee. At the European Championships in 1984 he had the honor of was to lead the opening match between hosts France and Denmark in Paris.
