Hamburg- Folk Village is a neighborhood in the northeast of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. He is assigned to the district Wandsbek. Its name is derived from Volcwardesdorpe and has its origin in the name of the village founder folk Ward.

Geography

Folk village borders the east, north and northeast of Schleswig -Holstein. The largest local city ( in Stormarn ) is Ahrensburg. Northwest includes folk village on Bergstedt to the west of the district Sasel and southwest of the district Farmsen -Berne. Defined by the Volksdorfer forest closes south Meiendorf, a district of the district Rahlstedt on.

History

In folk village there are two Lutheran churches in a community: the church at Rockenhof and the Church of St. Gabriel. The community center of St. John had to be closed in 2002 for lack of funds. Culture and sights
