Volkstag
The People's Day was until September 1, 1939, the Parliament of the Free City of Danzig. This initially consisted ( I. -III. Volkstag ) from 120, later ( IV.-VI. Volkstag ) of 72 deputies who were elected at the D' Hondt method to four years. Right to vote: Men and women over 20 years in the possession of civil and political rights (Art. 8 para 1 and 3 DanV ). The passive suffrage had men and women from 25 years of active suffrage (Art. 8 para 2 DanV ). Electoral system: one vote per voter, a constituency. The Danziger Volkstag met in contrast to most other parliaments, the fixed and temporary hold meetings, as a permanent institution. The People's Day chose the Senate as the Government of the Free City of Danzig ( executive).
