Volkstedt porcelain

The eldest Volkstedter porcelain factory is the oldest still producing porcelain factory in Thuringia. The foundation dates back to Georg Heinrich Macheleid who after years of trying in the glassworks luck Thal 1760 the composition of the right porcelain, the Arcanum, discovered and already on September 8, 1760 was the privilege of the sovereign establishing a porcelain manufactory in seat village. 1762 the factory was moved to the vicinity of the princely court to Schwarzburg- Rudolstadt.

Each manufacturing step is performed entirely by hand. Famous Historical circumstances and people have been manufactured in china, such as "Flight of the Countess Cosel ," Frederick the Great, the dancer Fanny Elssler, Flute Concert of Sanssouci.

Glass Porcelain Manufactory

2006/ 07 the factory building the porcelain factory of the 18th century was converted into a Crystal Porcelain Manufactory. Visitors can now pursue the craft how the works. In newly furnished museum work templates, models and forms are issued.
