Volkstheater (Stuttgart)

The National Theatre was a 1945 ( according to other sources 1946) established privately run theater in Stuttgart, which had to close after the currency reform for economic reasons in 1948, like many other private theaters.

First used the theater several rooms, including a cinema in Stuttgart- Heslach. In December 1947, a special building in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen was purchased. Trip were played among others in Göppingen, Muehlacker, Bad Kissingen and numerous places in the Stuttgart area.

They played operettas such as mask in blue and in the White Horse Inn, as well as the play of XYZ Klabund.

The ensemble consisted of nearly 20 actors ( including Walter Schultheiss and Trudel Smudge ) and a ten -member ballet and a 24 - piece orchestra. Theater director was Kurt Fischer- Hollweg. Senior director of the operetta area was Bernhard Redetzki.
