The Vollmer GmbH & Co. KG is a German manufacturer of model train accessories, based in Stuttgart.

History

In 1946, the trained optician Wolfram Karl Vollmer founded the company. First, the company hired sheet metal products such as buttons and tie pins ago. The first plastic article was followed in 1948 and 1949, Vollmer at the Nuremberg Toy Fair for the first time the patented catenary ago. After the start of series production for overhead lines followed bridges and other accessories for model railways in the nominal size H0, later also for the nominal variables N and Z. As of 1995 models for nominal variables G and TT emerged from 2005.

The foundation stone for the factory building in Stuttgart- Zuffenhausen was laid in 1956. 1963, 1973, 1979, was structurally greatly expanded. In December 2013 it was announced that the company will discontinue Vollmer 30 June 2014 the operation.
