Volodymyr Muntyan

Volodymyr Muntjan (Ukrainian Володимир Федорович Мунтян, Romanian Vladimir Muntean; born September 14, 1946 in Kotowsk ) is a former Soviet football player and football coach.

Muntjans father was a Moldavian origin, one year after his birth his parents moved to Kiev and at age 15 he was already playing in the junior team of Dynamo Kiev. Since 1966 he played in the first team of the team and won with Dynamo 1966-1977 seven times the Soviet Championship twice and the Soviet Cup. In 1969 he was elected to the Soviet Footballer of the Year. 1975 won his team both the European Cup Winners' Cup as well as the UEFA Super Cup. Muntjan was at times as one of the best midfielders in Europe.

For the Soviet national team, he came from 1968 to 1976 to a total of 49 missions, scoring seven goals, he took part in the 1970 World Cup in Mexico.

After a serious accident in 1978 Muntjans career as an active player was over. He coached then, among other things, the national teams of Madagascar and Guinea, as well as the Ukrainian U -21 national team and the junior team of Dynamo Kiev.
