Volotea

Express S. L. is a Spanish low cost airline based in Barcelona and currently has five bases in France, Italy and Spain.

History

Express was founded in 2011 by Carlos Muñoz, founder of the Spanish low cost airline Vueling also, to life. The flight operations began on April 5, 2012. Since its inception Express expanded its route network steadily, in the summer of 2012 was, for example, a series of connections between the Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic added.

Due to the difficult situation on its Spanish home market and the lack of low cost airlines in France (apart from the presence of foreign airlines such as Ryanair ) the company in 2013 opened to Italy in the northern neighboring country in Bordeaux a base to be installed so the operational focus towards central Europe.

Destinations

Express operate from their bases in Venice, Nantes, Palermo, Bordeaux and Ibiza from various destinations in the Northern Mediterranean and Central Europe, including Seville, Lille, Ancona, Budapest and Rhodes. The only line goal in German-speaking countries, in addition to the flown on charter flights from Reggio Calabria Airport Memmingen, is currently Munich, which is served in the summer season from Nantes and Bordeaux.
