The Volusia County is a county located in the state of Florida in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is DeLand.

History

The Volusia County was formed on December 29, 1854 from parts of Orange County. It was named after a settlement on the St. Johns River.

Geography

The county has an area of ​​3,710 square kilometers, of which 853 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Brevard County, Seminole County, Lake County, Marion County, Putnam County and Flagler County.
